Sanctions
Economic sanctions were imposed on Iraq by the United Nations Security Council in 1990. They were lifted after the US-led invasion in 2003. The CASI website (Campaign Against Sanctions on Iraq/Cambridge Solidarity with Iraq) has lots of information and links.
- Oil for Food
Following serious public allegations into the administration and management of the United Nations Iraq Oil-for-Food Programme (OFFP), in April 2004 the UN Secretary General appointed an independent panel to conduct an inquiry into the OFFP, called the Independent Inquiry Committee into the United Nations Oil-for-Food Programme.
